Every season in Vancouver offers something unique and different. So we created our Limited Release beers to complement the best things about every season. We tend to brew them in smaller quantities so that we can refine their flavour, and while you may see a few in your liquor store, many are available only at our brewery on Granville Island.
Remember – like many of the finest things about our city, they’re only available in limited quantities. And just like a Vancouver season, you have to seize the moment while it lasts, because they’re gone before you know it. The good thing is that each new season ushers in a new exciting taste from Granville Island Brewing.
Oktoberfest
This Amber Lager has been brewed in the tradition of the world’s greatest beer festival. Our Okoberfest beer has a full malty flavour and is nicely balanced with the finest hops. Put on the Lederhosen, break out the schnitzel and have a barrel of fun! Available in select LDB stores and in our retail store on Granville Island.

Jolly Abbot
Monastic in origin, Belgian Abbey beers were first brewed by Trappist monks in the areas around present day Belgium. Deep mahogany in colour this Abbey is a strong, warming and fortifying ale known for its rich malt, spice and fruit flavours with a dry finish. Available in select LDB stores and in our retail store on Granville Island.

Porter
Porter originated in London England just prior to the industrial revolution. The name was adopted after the porters who worked the docks of London and drank copious amounts of this dark ale to sustain them. As a style of ale, Porter is the predecessor of Stout which was originally called “Stout (or strong) Porter”. Our Porter is a deep brown, almost black, colour with a red tint. It presents coffee—like roasted malt flavours and a dry finish.

Ginger Beer
This limited release is an alcoholic version of a traditional Caribbean Ginger Beer. Ginger Beer combines water, malt, hops and yeast with fresh ginger root to create a refreshing taste with the flavour and aroma of ginger and a bit of that spicy warmth you can only get from Jamaica. Enjoy Ginger Beer on its own or paired with spicy foods like Jamiacan Jerk or milder foods like sushi.

GI Bitter
Our interpretation of this classic beer style boasts a great body, striking copper hue & refreshing bitterness.
Premium Pale and Crystal Malts, Pacific Northwest hops and an English ale yeast are combined to produce a well balanced special bitter.
Only available in our Granville Island Brewing retail store.
Belgian Wit
Our Belgian Wit is a lightly hopped unfiltered wheat beer spiced with coriander and exotic curacao orange. Witbier is a combination of pale grist, regional spices and hops fermented with a unique Belgian yeast to create a refreshing yet flavourful ale. With its nearly white appearance, wit was named for its unique cloudy look.
